Magic Trick - Boretti's Chinese Laundry Pole
A few decades ago, Supreme's "Popsy Pegs" trick was very popular. A great effect, but the prop a "giant piece of furniture" with some disadvantages.
Boretti, an experienced and much-decorated professional in children's entertainment, had already recognised the potential at that time and created his "Chinese Clothespin" from it, which transferred the theme of "bouncing clothes pegs" to a bamboo cane as a prop.
However, the trick technique could not be solved optimally due to the bamboo cane used.

In the course of the funny story, the children learn how the big laundry day in China goes. Socks, shirts and, of course, the colourful silk ribbons popular in China are hung up to dry after the wash cycle. And because there are many Chinese, but not much space everywhere, the laundry items are not hung on clotheslines, but on Chinese laundry poles. During this lecture, you attach four colourful silk ribbons attached to clothes pegs to the clothes pole. This not only has the advantage that the clothes pole doesn't take up so much space, but the laundry also hangs much higher and dries much faster because a much stronger wind blows "up there".
It's just stupid that you need a ladder every time to take the laundry down - or a magic spell.
One child chooses a colour - all the other children call out the magic spell - and the clip with the freely chosen silk ribbon shoots into the audience in a high arc.
So far, there is a certain similarity with the "silk scarves on a hanger". However, this trick is already over at this point.
The "Chinese clothes pole" is where it really starts. The child who has caught the clip with the silk ribbon brings the clip back and it is attached to the clothes hanger again. As soon as the clip is fixed, a different coloured ribbon jumps into the audience in a high arc. The magician looks away for a moment, and with a "bang" the first ribbon is catapulted into the audience together with the clip. You can already see the great entertainment potential here, which pleasantly stands out from other effects.
No matter how hard the magician tries to attach the ribbon and the clip to the clothes pole, one of the clips and the matching coloured ribbon always jumps off at an unexpected moment - there is no peace until, after a spell, all the ribbons fly into the audience one after the other in a high arc - then the clothes clips and the ribbons are placed in a "clip bag" and the coloured ribbons unite there to form a long, colourful ribbon!
