A day full of wonder and movement
Great amazement, bright children's eyes and lots of movement: Under the motto “Circus Time”, SchenkSpass opened its new halls in Giebelstadt on October 3, 2025 for WDR's Mouse Door Opener Day. Around 350 children and families took part - around 70 percent of them children, who were able to experience a varied circus world full of hands-on activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
From juggling to vertical cloths – a hands-on circus to amaze
On the extensive production site, Christian and Frederik Schenk and their team offered a day full of experiences: juggling, balancing, magic and crafts were on the program. At the start of each group, the brothers presented an impressive diabolo juggling number before the children were allowed to get active themselves.
Whether it was artistry on a vertical canvas, balancing on large balls or making your own POIs – there was great enthusiasm. A highlight was the new “Sendung mit der Maus” plotter motif, which children could take home as a souvenir.
Creativity, movement and lots of fun
In addition to the circus stations, face painting, a bouncy castle and a bungee run game ensured an exuberant atmosphere. Many families stayed all day and took the opportunity to discover juggling items or magic tricks in the SchenkSpass shop.
“We wanted to show how much creativity, craftsmanship and joy there is in circus art,” explains Frederik Schenk. Over 200 hours of preparation went into planning the special day of action.
Enthusiasm and positive feedback
The feedback was consistently positive: parents and children thanked them personally, via Instagram and by email for the extraordinary experience. “So much enthusiasm motivates us to continue making experiences like this possible in the future,” says Christian Schenk.
In the end it was clear: the “circus time” in Giebelstadt was a complete success – a day that gave children and adults alike joy, exercise and magical moments.
