The Ferris wheel is a supplementary model to the Astromedia steam engine and is designed to be particularly smooth-running for the modest power of the latter. It has a strong reduction of 15:1, i.e. the impeller that turns the Ferris wheel has a diameter 15 times larger than the driving wheel that is attached to the crankshaft of the steam engine.
