The Goethe Table Barometer

The Goethe table barometer is also called a weather glass or thunder glass. When the air pressure rises, the air bubble in the barometer ball is compressed, and this changes the water level: in the ball it rises, in the neck it falls, and vice versa. Since there is relatively little water in the neck, the rising and falling of the water level is particularly noticeable here.
This air pressure gauge is not quite as accurate as a mechanical barometer, but it is very beautiful!

Note: The thermometer is made of thin glass. Not a child's toy!
