The magnetic hourglass
An hourglass of a special kind: The falling sand does not land on a hill, but forms amazing and mysterious structures.
How is this possible? The first secret: a small but strong neodymium magnet is embedded in the base of the Magnetic Hourglass. It obviously has an effect on the sand, and this leads to the second secret: there are no glass beads in the hourglass, but a fine cast iron granulate that can be attracted by the magnet.
